Celebrating Women in Construction Week with Professional Women in Building
Celebrating Women in Construction Week with Professional Women in Building
Women in Construction Week is a time to recognize the vital role women play in the building industry. From trades and design to leadership and advocacy, women continue to shape the future of construction with skill, innovation, and resilience.
The Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council, part of the National Association of Home Builders, leads the charge in promoting and supporting women across all areas of the industry. Through events, outreach, and mentorship, PWB helps raise awareness and create opportunities for women to thrive in construction careers.
Elizabeth Gomez, co-owner of Bridge City Contracting, was awarded a Pink Hard Hat Award for her Community Leadership, recognizing her involvement in numerous nonprofits, foundations, and advocacy efforts. Elizabeth’s work reflects a dedication not only to building homes, but to building stronger, more inclusive communities.
Honored by Peers and Competitors: A Moment of True Leadership Recognition
In a powerful testament to her impact and integrity, Elizabeth Gomez was recently honored by both her peers and competitors—an extraordinary recognition that speaks volumes about her leadership, character, and commitment to community.
Elizabeth has long been a driving force in nonprofit and advocacy circles, known not only for her strategic vision but also for her unwavering dedication to collaboration and equity. Her work has consistently bridged divides, built coalitions, and uplifted voices that often go unheard. But what made this moment especially meaningful was the source of the recognition: those who have worked alongside her, and those who have competed with her.
To be celebrated by competitors is rare. It means that even in the face of challenge and difference, Elizabeth has led with respect, transparency, and a shared sense of purpose. It means her work transcends rivalry and speaks to something deeper—values that unite rather than divide.
Her peers, many of whom have partnered with her on transformative initiatives, echoed this sentiment. They praised her for being a leader who listens, who shows up, and who never loses sight of the bigger picture.
